bbcmudtruck
Does anyone have experience with buffing out scratches on black plastics? I got a set of black full bores that need some scratch removal from gerneral riding.
tecateman
depending how deep the scratch is.. you can use whatever grit it takes to get the scratch out then work up to maybe 1500 grit or higher. maybe fine steel wool. then polish and buff. you can polish plastics just like metal. good luck. esterelbanshee
If the scratches are really fine, you can use a heat gun to CAREFULLY warm up the plastic which will smooth out the scratches. Yes you can buff plastics, i've been buffing the headlights on my cars for years. Works great

BigMatt
i use really fine sand paper 180 than work my way up and in between sandings I warm up the spot with a torch and repeat, I dont remember how high of a grit i went but after I was done I used a polishing wheel with a plastic polish and you cant even tell they were there. try in under the fender first to get a feel for it if your unsure thats what i did.
