I have a 1999 banshee with stock suspension and its setup for a little kid sags like a mother, anyways I thought about rebuilding the rear shock but I would like to just upgrade all around. starting with the front I want new elka shocks and after market A-arms stock size and a elka shock for the rear also, I mostly trail ride and am around 6'3'' 265lb

so my question is

What type of Elka shock remote or non?

what brand of A-arm?

where is the cheapest and best place to buy these?

is there a reason why you want to keep the stock length of arms? Going up to +2 arms will aid in better handling all around. If your money can take the hit, I would go for preload and compression adj. Which is the shock with a rez and a nob on the side so you can control how hard the impact is from the shocks. there are sites that offer a set up with arms and shock for a nice price. But they take all the guess work out of it. I got my arms for my banshee off ebay for around $200 new with lifetime on them. So then to the shocks. they are going to start around the Mid$450's up to $1500 for full adj. The rear will start out around $800 and if you add the link. Thats another pretty penny. So if your going to just do some easy trail rides. I would just look at getting the pogo elkas which have just preload adj. I have a buddy that runs them and loves them. But its all on how much your really wanting to spend. Because you can get well into the 2k mark really easy.

I would also go with +2 arms. If your going to replace the front end why not? I ride trails and don't have any issues with +2 arms at all. Since your a bigger guy, you will probably need shocks built for you. Elkas are the cadilacs of shocks. Depending on how hard you ride, you may want the piggy back resis. If you decide to get the resis, be sure to get the compression adjustment on them. You could also try a set of 450 shocks and respring them for your weight. If your dead set on getting stock length arms, the 450 shocks would be close as is. As far as the rear goes, the only way to correctly spend your money is to fork out some $$$ for an Elka. I have spent nearly $350 on my rear stock shock trying to get it set where I want and I'm still not completely happy with it.

I was going to put a +2 A-arms with a +2 swinger but my buddy has a outlaw and loves it just hates how wide it is on the trails so thought stock size would be better, could I get a set of front elka shock that would fit stock A-arms and than if I didnt like switch to +2 or would they no longer work? I have to get a rear shock no matter what, I looked for sets like front shocks and rear but could not find a complete set, so I take it I should get the stage 3 because of the piggy back and the adjustments? I do mostly trail ridding plan on going to silver lake dunes this year at least once, this is my first banshee build, I have never owned a sport quad more of a tree hauler type guy, But you can look at what I have done so far at http://s682.photobucket.com/albums/vv182/mattrentz_2009/Yamaha%20Banshee/
