JasonsBanshee
Dave, how much of a difference did you see from when you was racing with the dirt tires to when you put the paddles on? I'm trying to figure out how beneficial it would be for me to buy a set of paddles before we go.
dave5.0
There was a big difference. I don't know with the tires you are running if I would kill myself to find a set before then. The ones you have now should do pretty well. I'm gonna bring my 4snows and probably my iRazrs and call it good. If you just play in the sand for a while and not go into the hard stuff it might be worth your time. They are a blast to climb the hills with. I wouldn't want to run a good set of Haulers or something like that over there for very long though.
JasonsBanshee
My buddy is bringing a set of Sand Geckos that he said I could slap on and try out. Last year I was running Fast Trekkers and the scoop in the tread pattern really worked well in the sand. I was taking people with some strong motors and mine was stock. This year, I have the new Honda Radials but I don't know how well they'll do in that loose sand where we were racing. dave5.0
Haven't heard anything good about the Geckos. Those are the kinda paddles you wanna run over there though. Being the molded type. They are still better than a regular dirt tire. Those open tread Ohtsus should work pretty good though. My razrs are kinda like that and work realy good. I ran them over there a while back with a couple of buddies. One on a cr250. I was eating him up in that same spot on my 450. Now that you have that 4' swinger on there you are probably gonna have to sit on the grab bar to get it to hook anyway. run
Jason; I like the organization...the group photo from last year was SWEET, hopefully we get a few more good ones. I plan on being there EARLY as well, I want a full day of riding. I'm all for doing the lunch, but if we're doing that we need to make it happen. I'll be bringing a cooler with some personal stuff, but can donate as well. The paddles did make a difference, but as dave said you dont want to run them for too long out there. I dont know if im getting some or not...depends if i make the silver lake trip..
JasonsBanshee
I think you nailed it on the head when you said "donate." I say we do the lunch just like that, on a donation basis. If you have an idea on what you're bringing then post it up. I just don't want to get in a situation like we had at Haspin where we had food to grill but no grill. You agree? I'll probably bring some bottled water, lunch meat, bread and maybe a bag or two of chips.
JasonsBanshee
OH, also on Silver lake. If you wanted to drive to my place, ride with us and leave your vehicle at my place that's fine with me. I'm just asking everyone that rides with me to pitch in on gas money. As soon as this Badlands trip is over, we'll really focus on the Silver Lake trip and get that thread kicking and alive. There's a lot of planning that needs to be done to make that trip happen succesfully. Edited March 8, 2010 by JasonsBanshee

Yea no doubt, we could lay it all out ala buffet style as far as chips, sandwiches, pop, and etc. I'm in for whatever. OH, also on Silver lake. T_Shee
thanks for all your work on organization jason. april 3rd is no good for me on a rain date (anniversary) but if it works best for everyone else then thats cool. i will prolly just bring my own lunch or buy something at the concession stand. looks like we will have one heck of a turnout. i think the biggest thing is that everyone gets there early so we can get thru the gate and get going. seems like last year we lost an hour just waiting for everyone to show up and get ready. but anyway should be a good time, i cant wait. Motoman991
I might be able to make it out for this. Depends on if my brother gets his banshee back together. He has almost all of the parts now. I won't be on a banshee though since I sold it. I'll be bringing my RM250 and my LT250/500 if I can make it. I'll talk to my brother and a few friends about it tonight. Keyser Soze
Spent about 10 minutes on the phone with the people are the Badlands today trying to work some type of deal. Best I could come up with is a free Badlands sticker valued at $5.00 lol. Really tried to get some free track passes but there were not having it. They are still running winter hours (closing at 5:00). The guy said if we can get 35 people he miiight be able to keep it open until 6:00 but did not want to promise anything. scottzimmerman
Zimmerman bring that tecate if you have room. I bet that thing could outrun a lot of banshees. I completed my break in today. Loaded up and went to a decent sized field we ride it. Went thru some heat cycles. Used about a full tank of gas. Refueled and gave it hell. Its been forever since I have road so its hard to tell for sure but it seems a heck of a lot faster. 44t front sprocket seems to help to. Shit come to think about it I think im going to send them an invoice for my fuel, and a small $9.00 an hour wage.
