I've had the one on the rappy for 4 years now and haven't had any problems. Wiring it is easy, connect one wire to the orange coil wire and the other just ground out to the bar clamp and you'll be good to go! Quote

I have a trail tech vector with the billet dash mount/bar clamp, does it mount on the handle bar clamps? or any where on the handle bar tubing? thanks matt Quote
someone82 Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 (edited) Anywhere on the handle bars will do fine and where your most comfortable with it. I have mine mounted next to the clutch perch since I got rid of the factory light/kill switch. Edited February 2, 2010 by someone82 Quote

It can be hard on the CDI. If it is a normally opean switch then you hook in to the black with white stripe, then ground the other end. If it is a normally closed switch then you splice it in to the Red with black stripe wire that goes to the key. Even dyna doenst recomend splicing in to the orange coil wire. http://www.dynaonline.com/skins/support/dynatek_faq.aspx#610 How do I properly wire a tether kill switch? Most tether kill switches sold are normally open with the tether key installed. Once the tether key is removed, the switch will close itself, creating a short to whatever circuit it wired to. This should not be used to ground the high voltage signal to the ignition coil. WARNING: Installation of a grounded tether kill switch to the ignition coil signal will damage the ignition. Consult your individual instruction manual for specific wiring instructions. RECOMMENDED: Magneto- Source coil CDI (Banshee / 400EX / 250R / MX bikes / etc): Use a NORMALY OPEN tether kill switch connected to the stock kill switch. When tether is removed the switch should ground the kill input into the ignition. 12V DC-CDI (Raptor / Z400 / KFX400 / ETC): Use a NORMALLY CLOSED tether kill switch connected in series with the +12V input to the ignition. When the tether is removed, it should disconnect the +12V power to the ignition. Most battery equipped quads have a RUN/STOP switch which disconnects +12V power, a NORMALLY CLOSED tether switch can be installed in series of these wires. Quote

I just got this tether and am now installing it wanna make sure its right. Quote
BigMatt Posted February 27, 2010 Author Report Posted February 27, 2010 installed the switch for anyone who want to also install one splice one wire into the black with white stripped wire and the other to the the soild black to find these wires follow you kill switch wires down to where they connect to the harness the black with white stripped wire will have a bullet connector and the soild balck wire will have a plug. this is for an open switch and your stock light/kill switch will still work, this way of wiring is better than the coil!
