ReckONE
I have had some problems with my Pro Designs cool head leaking coolant between the cylinders and head. I just rebuilt the motor, and picked up a o-ring kit for the head. I was wondering can I run a normal head gasket instead of the O-rings? I am sure the new O-rings will do the same thing eventually. Also does any one know what the torque on the PD head nuts are?
bbcmudtruck
First make sure your head and cylinders are flat. You have to use orings with that head. If the head and cylinders are flat, new orings will fix the problem. Use a little vasaline to hold the orings in place while you put it back together and be sure not to over tighten it. madjimmax
Make sure that you re-torque the head after first heat cycle and you will probably be OK. They should be torqued to 20lbs and then I re-torque to 22lbs. after first heat cycle and I never had a problem. ReckONE
Ok then thanks guys! I am using different cylinders since then. So I will see how it goes with the new o-rings.
jbooker82
What bore were your old cylinders on? The ones that kept leaking?
