-Herbie- Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 Anyone on here use one of these kits? Are they worth it? The 97 I am rebuilding has a lot of old rusted and crappy looking fastners. I would like the exposed fastners to look a little better. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140377612568&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-BANSHEE-540pc-POLISHED-STAINLESS-BOLT-KIT-ATV_W0QQitemZ330397117070QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_ATV_Parts_Accessories?hash=item4ced33ea8e Quote
Drewski Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 If your going to spend money, spend it on the stainless steel bolts. I bought the allozboltz bolt kit similar to those you are looking at and am very happy with them. The only thing about them is that the allen style bolts get filled with dirt and are a pain to clean out prior to taking them out. Also when you are installing the nuts to the bolts you should use an anti-seizing compound or there might be a chance of them seizing together. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 I have a Fastenerguy polished kit. It's done well. I have a few bolts that have some surface rust from being stored and not maintianed while I was deployed but nothing bad. I also have had a few bolts get galled or torn up threads over the last 2 or so years I have had the kit. He has repaced the bolts and uts free of charge on more than one occasion. Quote
tundish2800 Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 I have the allozbolts stainless as well i don't get my bike dirty i only sand drag and dune ride on occasion. But its a clean look and the head won't strip out on them. Quote
