BANSHEEAHOLIC
How can I explain this simply.... Its taking my 95 Banshee about 10 kicks with the choke open to turn on. Now after riding for awhile and I turn the bike off for a minute to do whatever I go to kick her back on, she refuses to! Sometimes I have to push start her and pop the clutch to get her going again. This is not everytime but I don't want to have to go through this. Also I'm noticing sometimes excessive gas is running out the overflow through the carbs, even with the bike running it does it from time to time! Is this normal? I scored on this bike about a month ago from a racer that is now into 4 strokes so he sold me the bike for pennies on a dollar! The bike is fast as hell and has alot of extras so its definitely worth more then what I paid for it! The bike was left out in the weather for a few months. When I bought it, it had ice on it! I changed all the fluids, drain the gas tank, changed the spark plugs, and changed the oil filter. What else should I do?
rubberneck
Maybe you installed the wrong oil filter? I dont know just a guess What is compression? Perhaps it is an electrical problem? Any air leaks? My bet is on the oil filter still though
bbcmudtruck
Could you post up a picture of the oil filter? Anyways, it sounds like your floats need to be reset. Another thing to consider is your jetting. If the bike was jetted for summer weather and your riding it in the sub zero tempetures, you are going to burn it up. You need to rejet the bike for colder temps. The first thing I would do is pull the carbs, (one at a time) and clean the pilot and main jets out real good and rejet accordingly. Then reset your float level. If that does not stop the gas from over flowing, you will probably need to buy a rebuild kit. Give us a list of your mods, air temp and elevation and we can help you determine what jet sizes you need.
drap660
Try tightening the oil filter, you can lose alot of compression through there.... Edited January 29, 2010 by drap660

BANSHEEAHOLIC
Correction guys I didn't replace the Oil filter I meant to type Air Filter!!!!!!!!! I replaced the air filter! I was reading up on the oil filter at the same time when I was typing! I took her out on sat she ran petty good for about an hour after that she started to loose power and now she won't kick over at all ! I pulled the spark plugs and they was wet and black so I changed them and she kick on on the second kick and then I had to keep hitting the throttle to keep her going! I'm getting alot of back firing, She popping like a damn old fashion wild wild west gun fight! LOL! What the hell is going on here? I was told by a local bike shop up Aramingo Ave that its my topend but that was off the top of there head cause my bike wasn't in front of them! I know how people like to make money so they will tell you anything. So I'm turning to the experts on here first!
