stroking
is it better to use a modded shift star on a override or the stock one ? it feels alittle notchy.
sleeper06
I would say stock, with a stock spring,They even cut the stock star to a more aggressive holding pattern
RagunCajun
stock ftw! You dont want it going into gear when you hit a bump.
stroking
ok the paper that came with the override said to run 5-30 oil,but that seem kinda thin, what oil works best for you guys ??
dajogejr
We use stock stars for our overrides, cut/weld them as needed. We also recommend 2 qts. of ATF Type F for the trans. You'll have to change it more often, but it is cheaper than motor cycle gear oil. Does it feel notchy when it actually running, or when it's on the bench or in your frame with the motor killed? My trans feels like crap with the motor not running, but in 3 years of hard abuse it's never let me down once, shifts like butter every time. tedd1
...and i tried ATF awhile back and it fired my clutch. I would suggest that you had other issues with the clutch. Too many shees run atf, including mine, with no clutch issues. Rick
