kolb02
I have a RDZ drag ported 4mill and I was wanting to know what drag pipes to get? This is my only bike so I still dune with it, but I mostly hill shoot! I want them to be durable and look good as well as make great power. I don't want them to be too loud if that can happen with drag pipes! I'm thinking with going with RDZ drag pipes but I wanted to know what you guys thought about any other brands? Also I've seen drag pipes with silencers, do those work well or do they defeat the purpose of drag pipes? And are having the pipes come out one side make them less stable? Tell me what you guys think. Thanks!

I had the out of frame shears with the silencers and they bounced around alot and I got rid of them and bought the RDZ out of frames non silenced.they are one out each side and they are loud as fuck, but perform just as good as my oof shears. jeff
tedd1
Ditto on the inframes. I run Shearers from Cascade, well worth the extra $ for their chrome. IMHO, OOF are a PIA if you do anything but drag race on a smooth track and they are always in the way in the trailer. Rick
kolb02
I am running in frame center mount shearers now and I love them but the guy that lightend my frame mounted the tabs for the pipe wrong and they won't fit now and I already powdercoated the frame. He did many other banshee frames so I thought I was safe to powdercoat without testing them. And I even gave him the pipes so they would fit right! Lesson learned, always test fit it! So thats why I am going to drag pipes.

I would make the guy fix your frame and pay to have it recoated. You should not have to change your setup because of his fuck up. just my .
J-Madd
RDZ OOFs are freakin' loud. I love mine, but if decibels were an issue, I'd take the above suggestions, or go with some silenced OOFs.
kolb02
They are that loud? I ride with some guys that have CPI OOF pipes are they loader than those? Who makes silenced OOF drag pipes?

I would go with silenced one out each side shears,if I wanted silencers again.I was told there was a 2 month wait from shear with one out each side, thats why I bought the RDZ pipes. kolb02
I'm leaning towards the RDZ's one out each side! I was so impressed with the porting they did on my cubs I'm sure there pipes are the same. Do you think they can be duneable? I mean I like to at least go where all my buddies go! I don't care about sound.
tundish2800
rdz and ggr pipes are loud as hell. Both of these pipes are louder than cpi or shearers.
jlevasseur
Anything is dunnable, just depends just what you intend to do. As you said before, you mainly hillshoot. I don't know were you ride but here in oregon in you rid the trails or tree shots, the wide stance of OOF's might be and issue with hitting tree's, And tabs have been know to break due to vibration, but some rubber gussets can eliminate alot of the vibration. If you want the most out of your motor then go OOF's, you can learn how to dune it. But if you plan on getting a little rowdy when your dunning it then try the Shear Inframes. IMHO, both the shear inframes and out of frames have a light switch powerband so as far as that goes I don't think either would matter. On the dyno I have used I have seen the OOF's produce a little bit more HP then the inframes depending on the set up. And the Sheares seem to produce more then the CPI's. I have heard great things about the RDZ, even that they produce more then the Sheares and CPI's but have never ran then so not sure there. Good Luck Man! kolb02
Well, I ordered the RDZ OOF's one on each side! I hope I like them! We have an in house dyno so I will let you guys know what they make!
sheefreak
I am late on this thread but you prolly made the right choice on accident. For your future reference, you really need to have your builder choose your pipes to compliment their style of porting. Rob had his pipes made to compliment the way he ports and sets motors up. That is not to say that Robs pipes won't work good in other situations, but they will compliment his motors best. Other builders have their favorite and what works best for them. Nate Mccoy prefers Shearers, Tim from Titan Seems to like CPI's.... Anyway, hope you like your pipe choice and definately keep us updated on the dyno results. Rob builds a mean motor, you should be real happy.
