Which trans oil do I use? the manual says 10/30 or 10/40. I can't remember. I use elf oil in my dirtbike so thats what I was gonna use. But they were out of it until next week so the guy sold me honda 80w/85w for 2 stroke and 4 stroke trans. Is this OK to use?

What you bought will work, but when I ran that in my bike it shifted like crap. I run the Klotz Flex Drive 30, Klotz part number KL506, it shifts very smooth, and it holds up very well. All the other oils I have tried would have metal particles in it when I drained it out, but the Klotz never does. I have a Trail Tech Vector on my bike which has a hourmeter on it and I change it every 20 hours.

i like the bell ray gear saver myself!! used it for years.

I second that, good stuff.

As a side not STAY AWAY from 10w30, 10w40 and any kind of motor oil. The new motor oil has friction modifiers in it which will toast the clutch in a couple of minutes. I had this happen to my on my YZ a few years back. Clymers reccomended 10w40 motor oil, so I used that, and 5 minutes later, no more clutch.

I tried type f and toasted my already weak clutches. So I switched to belray gear saver and havent had a problem yet. With the new hd tusk clutch and belray this quad is amazing now. Never realized how bad the clutches were slipping.
