bigborebanshee
What do most of you set your caster at? i know companies like LSR give instructions for setting caster, but they say 4-5 degrees is the optimal setting trails/mx riding. the factory banshee caster on stock a arms is preset at 9 degrees? Has anyone set there caster up this way?How does it handle? I have mine set at 4 degrees positive and it feels like it wanders at higher speeds. Bansh-eman
It all depends on what kind of riding your doing. Duning, drag racing, and mx all need differant settings. What type of riding will you be doing?
rubberneck
If the bike feels like it is wandering at high speed add more caster. I run 5 on mine and it handles great. But you may need more. Also what is your toe in and camber set at? And you are taking measurements with you (somebody that weighs what you do) on the bike right? Alignment needs to be done at ride heighth.

Alignment needs to be done at ride heighth. I ride mainly trails..I set the camber so the tires tilt inward about 1 degree and the caster is set at bout 5 degree positive.toe is set at 1/4' in Al the measurements were set after checking tires and level ground.I did not have anyone sitting on it.I know camber and toe is affected by ride height, but i thought caster would not change much as long as front and rear ride height remained consistent. AKheathen
ok, how it works is that more caster will move the contact patch of the tire further behind the ball joints/steering axis, and increase the trailing effect, making it want to steer strait natually. less, will make it steer more easily, since the contact patch is closer, and steering will rotate it more than push it side-to side. your toe adjustment will also have a similar trade off of stability vs. cornering. best thing is to play with different settings 'till you get it right
