welcome to the site before anything what kinda of riding do you do?

a 4mil is a crank that goes 2mm higher and 2mm lower thus giving you more power and for a 421 kit you will need to get a 4mil crank, bigger carbs, a cool head, better pipes, reeds, pod filters, change gearing. lockup with cover, you might want to get it ported and also make it run on race fuel, ohh and also if you want just a little more power why not just port it and put a 4mil crank? you will save alot money by doing that.

hey thanks for the info. i live in iowa and there are only 2 park that i ride rock bluff and rathbun there are some really good trails and tracks at rock bluff you can do just about any type of riding there but rathbun is wooded trails with a small track to race around on. sounds like i would be better off not doing the big bore kit. what would some simple mods be for the riding i do?

yea for your type of riding a 421 would not be good thats to much power for trails, for your type of riding i would recomend a good trail port and if you want the extra speed get a 4 mil crank and bigger carbs and mill your stock head http://www.herrjugsracing.com/Porting_Motor_packages.html

hey thanks killa sound like a good idea. love the statement above your pic. i had a friend that thought the same thing on his 450 boy was he suprized L.O.L if he would have tradeed hes palaris for a 2 stroker instead he might have been alittle closer at the finish line.

id probably go with a 4mm stock cylinder set up. you will make awesome power that will work well with your type of riding. go with some keihin 33mm pwk, noss head to bump up compression, timing advance etc...

how much do you wanna spend? that will ultimately affect your mod decisions.

also, welcome to HQ

i have big dreams an empty pockets L.O.L since i lost my job 8 months ago. started rebuilding some old bikes for friends to make some cash but never any mods some im new to it mostly do stock restos. so i will probly get the shee cleaned up and lookin purdy again i have it completely disassembled in the basement now. havent done much to it since i got it other then grease it before going riding and washing it off after (sometimes) hey what would bring the shine back to the fenders?

Welcome bro.

You could port your existing cyls. Since you've done nothing to them they should be on stock bore (64mm) they have all their life left in them. If you think you may go to a 4 mil down the road then I would do it now. Depending on who does the porting and what kind you may not be able to change from stock stroke to 4 mil in the future.

Advancing the timing will wake her up even on stock stroke with stock porting. That is cheap and easy. Timing plate is 35$ off ebay or you can mod you stock plate.

Bigger carbs are an option but stockers can run well also.

A Noss head to control your compression. Higher compression will typically increase you low end but at some point you will need to increase your octane to prevent detonation.

Good luck!
