WantABanshee
I just completley rebuilt my banshee.. (bought it in pieces) It is the first banshee I have ever owned. After fixing and having the slides in on the wrong carbs this thing RIPS!!!! It runs great everywhere. However, it hates to start and sometimes when i kick it and it doesn't start it backfires. It also will not idle. I have a 290 main jet in it with a BRAND NEW 27.5 pilot. I tried to lean out the pilot thinking that its trying to flood itself when it doesn't start so I would turn the air screw to 2 turns out and it just did not run good at all. Right now I have the air screw 1.5 turns out and it runs great just does not like to start or idle. Please help me out guys. Mods Toomey T3's Proflow filter with adaptor and no airbox lid boyseen reeds.
278
If you still have your TORS system remove it, then try actually dropping the pilot jet size.
cousinsracing
Yes the stock tors are still on the bike but they're unplugged but I will be getting a removal kit tomorrow is the pilot too fat for my setup or will I be able to get it dialed in with the airscrew? locogato11283
your pilot size is fine. almost all aftermarket pipes require the 27.5 pilot. have you used the idle screws at all?
FASTOYS
Need to make sure the bowls are on the correct carbs. One has a brass BB on bottom edge of the bowl and the other bowl doesn't have one. The one with the bb goes on the left carb (w/Choke knob). Also need to sync the carbs! AKheathen
did you also unplug the tors controll box? the little black box under the gas tank next to the coil, on the left.......it will not idle at all otherwise, unless you are barely touching the throttle. cousinsracing
just an FYI gus my cousin (wantabanshee) and I worked on our bikes and that damn little tors box next to the coil was plugged in on both of ours! so we got rid of that, bottomed out the slides, synched the carbs, set the idle screws and now both of our bike idle (neither one of them did before)! Oh and Jeff, got the throttle springs in and it is a night and day difference bro we rode all day today and it was very comfortable..thanks a lot man
