Shock upgrade question

I know this has prob been asked, but I could not find much with the search function. Apparently a lot of people do the YFZ 450 front shock upgrade due to the pinned thread on how to install them.

Is this a good upgrade for dune and overall use. My shocks are a little rough and old and need some work. Figured might as well just replace them. Not looking for anything too serious. Any input would be great. Thanks guys.

Its a great upgrade if money is tight. Also you can use them if you end up puttin +2+1 arms on your quad as well. Those where the first thing I did to my banshee for suspension and was very happy with them. But I didnt grind anything off my shock... I cut out the bottom A arm for mounding and shaved some of the top mount. Didnt want to take away from the shock it self.

Ride a lot better? Is there really much to installing these or am I better off just spending the money on after markets. I have a J arm bike so odds are I wount be going +2+1 unless I upgrade the J arms which Stellar machine can do for me.

The 450 shocks work pretty good on my +2+1 arms, I haven't even rode a J arm bike so I can't help you there. If it were me, I would buy 450 shocks before I bought works. I've had both and just wasn't impressed with the works at all.

I guess you and I are in the same boat on Works shocks. I dont like them at all. I would almost rather ride a rigid frame.

i have never rode a a arm shee before but i would think its not much diff. they are a little lighter than the a arms but not much i dont think.

im sold then i will be getting the 450 shocks then.i got a vid of me jumping a 90 foot table top at my motocross track i may post up. if you land right its pretty good but if you dont it hurts and i have rode a 450 and land the sameway and its not as bad.plus you can get the 450 shocks that

have the piggy backs for 200-300 bucks versus the regular at stellers that are 450 for just the shock and i think rezzies are 150 or 200 more.
