Slickgib
Ok... Ok what is the single best mod u can do for the most hp-performance gains...I myself when I bought my shee came with a set of T-3"s. And a k/n filter.. So after that I purchased a set of vforce 3 reeds and totally stoked about the gains from them also I threw a cool head and a alum impellar on.. I'm just wondering what I should do next. I love duning it up. So that's what I ride mostly!I'm thinking to upgrade my pipes to some t-5"s or 6"s
AKheathen
well, the 2 biggest gains are pipes, and porting. the t-3's should actually pull pretty hard, and it's not like you are going from "stage 3" to stage "5" or "6".....they just have different rpm profiles. the vf3's aren't gonna be such a big kick in the pants as you may hope, but they are an improvement.... FASTOYS
Yep, pipes and porting yield the biggest gains. I would say a timing plate should be next on your list. I would go with the T5s for a broader powerband. Then...welcome to porting!
dajogejr
I agree with these two gentlemen... For bolt on mods, pipes hands down. Primarily because the stock pipes are that horrid for performance... But Porting will net WAY more. You have to tear the motor down for that. Pipes will NEVER give you double the HP. Porting in the right hands can and will.
alf44
Yup. Pipes and Porting. A good aggresive dune port is the way too go. It will be night and day difference. For your next cheap bolt on mod put a +4 timing plate in it. Inexpensive easy to install and noticeable response. When your ready too do you port work hit up one of us site sponsors like Kevin at Herr Juggs. Just click the banner and your there dude. Good luck and have fun. DallasGDub
After bolting on tons of crap to a bike, Porting is by far the only mod that made me content with power. It was a day and night difference.
Slickgib
Yeah i was thinking that proting would be the next thing to do... i have a guy here in san diego that works on my bike. his name is rich yakkey. he did a race port on my brothers banshee and we have all the other same bolt ons but his pulls alot harder then mine... how much is a usual port job
FASTOYS
The norm for porting runs 350-450 range depending on who/where/what.
AKheathen
and, almost anyone can make some power oout of a port job, but a well known banshee builder with a good rep will make alot more power.......as is with any of the sponsors that do porting.... bode1
Porting hands down. If you're in San Diego, so is HJR. It's a no brainer, you can drop it off and not have to deal with shipping, and he has a quick turn around time.
