Monster_M3
like the topic says, which of the two are more reliable and make more power? im trying 2 figure out which would be better on my shee stock bore ported 4 mill vs. stock crank ported cub 68mm cub cylinder
T_Shee
it depends on what kind of riding you are gonna do and what kind of porting. if you want more top end the cub would be better suited but if you wanna trail ride youd be better off with 4 mil and trail port. prolly do a 4 mil and porting for around the same price as cub top end. as for hp #'s im not sure

FASTOYS
We have done full drag stock cyl 4mm and full drag Cubs. In a 100 yrds they are tit for tat and i wouldnt want to bet on either one they are so close. BUT after the that the Cub begins to outpull the stock cyls.. Both are reliable. If your saying drag and "TRAILS", then i think you will be much happier with a stock cyl play/dune port unless you have the extra money for cubs and dont mind the majority of the power to hit up top. jbooker82
A fast 4mill is a fun machine to ride. Mine has a super strong mid range hit and revs out really well.
bbcmudtruck
If you do more than 50% trail riding then you won't like a cub. A dune ported 4mil will be fast and have plenty of grunt for the trails. Keep in mind that you will need to complete the package which ever motor you decide to go with. ie clutch, pipes, carbs, reeds, head, possible override, etc. etc.

jbooker82
You could build a 4mill stock cylinder. Then if you need to up grade sell your top end and buy a 4mill cub top end.

Good idea I agree. Also, HP and 300 ft times are similar with a drag ported 4 mil and a stock stroke 68 mm cub (at least the ones that I've had.). The stock cylinder 4 mil should have a little more bottom end.

Yea you can almost get your money back out of your stock cylinders if you get a Reputable builder's port job, and it is a running top end. That way it is no wait.
