popa_top2000
Did anybody watch it? I thought it was a pretty good night. My question is, who the hell is BJ Penn going to fight now? The dude dominates at 155.
locogato11283
it was announced at the post fight press party that he will be moving up to challenge brock for the heavyweight belt.
theshee
was a pretty good night. Mir looked very impressive, id imagine he will be fighting cain for the interim belt? BJ killed diego, may have been a little better fight had BJ not damn near ko'd him in the first 30 seconds but I doubt it BJ is very good at 155. sandman81
It was a good night. But all i can say is FUCK bj penn. I hate that guy he so overrated, in the sense that he gets such a big hype of being such a great fighter. But yet he never has any condition, always gets winded by like the second round. when a fighter doesn't do his condition to prepare for a fighter that is a sign of disrespect to his opponent, the sport and his fans. When he faught aganst GSP he talked so much shit about "i wont give up blah blah blah" but yet he threw in the towel because he was out of breath and then goes on and trys to say the GSP is a cheater, give me a break. He my have talent ill give him that but being a great fighter he is not. Finally, vented it all out. Bring on the shit talking because i know im gonna get it. I cant stand people saying how great he is all the time either, he looked like a clown against GSP and I think he would against a lot of 170 lb fighters. He he wants to be the best ever like he says, he is going to have to nut up and take some real fights at 170, and quit fucking around with the amateurs at 155. Id like to see Jose Aldo from WEC put on 10 lbs and fight penn though, I think that would be one hell of a scrap!
locogato11283
There is no one at 145 or 155 on this planet that can beat BJ at 155. It's just not going to happen. BJ's true test lies at 170. I think he needs to step up, but not put on a bunch of excess weight. He is probably right at 170 come fight time now and that is what he should stay at for 170. Give him Alves, Fitch or Kos and see how he does. I am fairly certain he will beat all three of them. You have to think, the only time BJ has ever lost, aside from Pulver in 2002, is against much bigger fighters.. Hughes, GSP and Machida. He's beaten Hughes once, went to a decision with our current LHW champion, went to decision with GSP in a close fight the first time, and got outclassed by GSP the second time. You absolutely can't knock the guy at 170 considering he's only fought the best there. Hughes was in his prime at the time and so was GSP. BJ is the best in the world at 155 and given a couple years at 170, instead of jumping up to fight the champ who has cleaned out the division, he could have easily cleaned out most of 170. evro
GSP said in an interview that he thinnks alves would beat bj....but alves is also at least 30 pounds heavier...just a way bigger dude naturally. bj pisses and whines saying that "all these guys wanna train with me (florian, sanchez) and then they want to fight me." well, he's right. when you're a champion, you're the guy the contenders want to beat. nothing disrespectful in that. quite the opposite i think. bj should take it as a compliment. it's like he gets offended that someone could think they deserve a shot at his belt. i have the utmost respect for his game. he can get by on talent alone and i enjoy watching him fight. he's a technically and athletically sound fighter, and he is also a tough fighter. but i cant stand his fucking whining. Nice overhand left by Mir. Is fucking huge or what?, he weighed in for brock around 240+ and he was basically the 265 last night. he was noticeably bigger....but he is still noticeably smaller than lesnar.
