fourxquad
Hey guys I just broke a ring in my motor, So im trying to figure out what i should do to it. I don't want to pull the crank out at this time.. I'm thinking about just putting a set of cylinders and pistons in it and change the head out. Just wanted to get some ideas on what way to go and what parts to stay away from. This bike only runs in the sand dunes.. Thanks for the help... kodie
either send your cylinders to kevin her from herr juggs racing or send them to jeff at farmandsandtoys and get them ported or like said before buy some cheetah cylinders they are the site sponsors and they do incredible work and porting is the cheapest mod for the most power. and then get ya a cool head with some 20 cc domes unless you want to run race fuel then get ya like some 18cc domes this will bump your compresion up and wake her up. I've used both chariot and noss heads they are both great peices and i would recomend either one. vforce 3 reeds also play around with the gearing on your sprockets the lower you go in the front the more low end she will have but it will also take some of the top end away and vice versa. AKheathen
how bad are the cylinders after breaking the ring? most likely just nicked the port and there is probably plenty left that will be removed anyway with porting.... From what I have been told, if you are thinking about getting the cylinders ported, or even better, going to a cub, you need to reinforce the crank, otherwise, you are prone to losing the crank. So, if reliability is a priority, you need to consider reinforcing the crank. I just went through all of this, and I am glad I have the peace of mind with a hot rods crank. I just did the mods below, and the only four strokes that beat me are purpose built Raptors, and 450's on the bottle.
