Need help with my wiring

Ok so My bike originally came with a PVL and the regular ignition was in a box...Well I sold the PVL and I go to hook up the other ignition and i get no fire. So..I took a bunch of pictures and maybe you can see something I missed. The harness has obviously been modified.

And I havent bolted the cdi box to the frame not sure if it has to be grounded to it...

Hey if the pics dont work I cant access photobucket from work could someone with a little time post them to their photobucket.

-Thanks, Marcus

idk, but you need that green/white and red/white wire hooked to the pickup to tell it to spark. also, make sure the harness is grounded @ the back of the frame where the voltage regulator mounts.

Sorry for the newbness, but which one is the voltage regulator? Not the CDI box, huh?

And can you please be a little more specific about the location where the ground goes...

BTW, I didnt see any wires for those to tie in to....???????

well, not sure you can tell much by the pic, but you can see that the wires from the pickup disappear behind the stator plate, follow a couple clips on the back and come up with the rest of the wires in the loom. the little ground loop looks like the one that you have bolted to the cylinder. it goes back by the tail light with the cdi. the voltage regulator is a little metal box about 2"x2"x1/2", and it's supposed to be plugged into a blue wire, which actually comes off the yellow stator wire in the harness. that little red/black wire with the bullet connector next to the black wire is your keyswitch wire, which should either be connected to your keyswitch, or connected to each-other for the ignition to work. you need to pull your timing plate off to get the wires connected to the pickup. so, you are saying that you had spark before? or did you get it like this and just now hooking everything up?

Yeah when I bought it it had a 521 cheetah motor on ir with a pvl...This ignition was in a cardboard box with a bunch of oher parts...Maybe I didn't look hard enough for the voltage regulator but I dont have that hooked up. And also I dont have the keyswitch hooked up either lol it was a long day when I tried hooking all that up.

So basically I need to hook up the voltage regulator, reposition my ground to the back of the bike, hook up the ignition, .....aaaaand I'm kind of confused about the "pickup" wires....The cut ends need to be routed back behind the stator plate?

Looks like I'm gonna have to take off early today...

you have a pickup bolted to the plate, right? green/white and red/white.

No sir I don't believe.

it looks like there are some bolt holes on the steel part of the stator assembly, but there are no bolts in them..I did not see any likely place the cut wires would go....

Oh and I can't find the voltage regulator either.
