locogato11283
hey guys, i am brand new to banshees, but not to 2 strokes as i have a sweet 3mm stroker blaster my dad built me. i can easily whoop on 400ex, kawi 400 and sometimes i can hang pretty close with the 250r's. anyway, i am wanting to buy a banshee to start modding out (boost bottles, raptor plastic and diff powerbands). i came across this one on ebay and it seems like a steal.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2002-Yamaha-Banshee-350-ATV-Fully-Loaded-Works-Perfect_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem53ddef5046QQitemZ360205733958QQptZATVs i am in cali so id have to have it shipped, but thats no big deal on a killer deal like this.. only 6,000 for a perfect fully loaded banshee? are they all this cheap? it even has some chrome pipes on it, which ive never seen before. plus, black and white are my fav colors.. so can you let me know if this is a good deal or what? here i am on my 3mm blaster ramping a huge dune in the mojave desert. Toomey Banshee
Ummmmm What? Yeah, powerbands and boost bottles. Riiiight. 6 G's? Bet this kid isn't even remotely spoiled. Since the Bike is in Ny maybe Skip can let the "Banshee dude" mod it out for him before its shipped to Cali.

locogato11283
ive heard of bansheedude. he builds the fastest banshees in the country. maybe ill buy it and send it to bansheedude and have him do a few go fast mods, like the boost bottle and carbon fiber gas tank cover. since i will only have 6 grand in the bike, i can afford to buy a few things for it. i just hope it will be faster than my blaster. banshee_terror_
if your gana do all that put in bigger powerbands they might brake with the bigger cams
locogato11283
if your gana do all that put in bigger powerbands they might brake with the bigger cams yea, i had already thought about the cams. should i go with counter balanced ones or what? ive heard you can run them both ways. also, is the 2002 banshee a 4 or 5 valve? i was thinking 2 intakes and 2 exhausts, so it should be 4.. but i thought i read somewhere that they also put in an extra intake for boost? is that right? AKheathen
yah, that's the wowie port. you should get the flexcam and run negative squish with ported head gaskets for better topend

papa_smurf49319
If you get the domed pistons, and cut the head for bigger valves, it adds like 50 more horse. The banshee 5 valve makes like 40 horse stock so if my calculations are correct you should be at like 110 horsepower, thats to the camshaft though so you would need to deduct like 15% do to parasitic loss through the driveshaft to figure front wheel horsepower!
