stock clutch basket question

Recommended Posts

No it is not. The coushins inside the basket are shot. Your best bet is to get an aftermarket billit basket. It will come with new coushins. You will have to grind the rivits off that hold the pirmary gear on the oem basket. Then you will put that gear with new coushins on the billit basket.

Look at the sticky above for the stock to billit basket swap.

Is the stock clutch basket suppose to move back and forth if you hold the primary gear and grab the basket and spin it back and forth, if so how much movement is considered fine? Im putting together a 4 mill and I dont want the basket to gernade, thanks guys

It would be a good ideal to inspect the basket well for wear. Specifically grooving of the drive ears on the outside. Usually when the cushions get worn, it causes accelerated wear on the basket. That will cause clutch sticking and poor shifting. If you are not familiar with these issues, simply search the site. There is a ton of info around on the subject.
