soundman1
Hello all, The Banshee was getting pretty sluggish on the bottom end, but winds out good still. Before putting in new plugs, did a compression check. Left bank is 135 and right bank is 150. Reading that possibly cracked or broken reeds could be the culprit, if that's the case, wouldn't it crap out on the top end too? Any input appreciated. Thanks, Terry
black sunshine
Don't think reeds are your problem. I'd do a leakdown test
soundman1
I should probably verify that I did the comp test correctly also. Only had the plug out of the cyl I was working on, throttle closed, filters on, and kick till the gauge topped out. Is that correct?
bbcmudtruck
Take both plugs out when you do it. You may have just got a little tired and stopped a little before the guage did. Also, pin the throttle wide open.
soundman1
Thanks, will give that a try again tonight.
blowit
Thanks, will give that a try again tonight. The reeds will not cause your change in compression. More than likely a piston/ring issue here. Brandon Mull Engineering
