99bansheeworked
hey before i get flamed yes i said reverse when i give it gas it will go back. I know when the piston hits all that. The ignition timing i thougtn but its fine. What else can it be. After i shut it down its fine but i think something def wrong
sleeper06
What happened to make it do this, its kinda hard to understand with no background or history of an event that led up to this,I think timing but we need info
racer
You're saying that when you start it, the tires turn in a direction other than forward? Knowing the starter, I don't think that's possible.
Drewski
for those who think it is not possible to have a banshee run in reverse....it is....it's called deisleing. this happens when the timing is out or when pre ignition occurs forcing the piston in the opposite direction. i would take your stator off and check all the components to see if anything is loose. TwistedSheeRida
if you arent risking blowin the motor i would run it through the gears in reverse first just to see how it goes lol but def sounds like a timing issue
sinisterboo
Kid brought me a blaster to work on once that was doing that, broken flywheel key was the culprit. And yes, I had to "test-ride" it first, to fully understand, LOL. quads are very responsive to steering going backwards fast!
bansheeseat$$
A crank out of faze will do this also(Twisted)

Dieseling is actually a totally different phenomenon. This just sounds like the timing being far enough off to reverse the engine which is certainly possible. Dieseling refers to a type of compression ignition cycle. Brandon

Brandon yes, my bad you are right but running an engine in reverse can be caused by deiseling
Screaming Yellow Zonker
This can happen during a kick back also.. It has happened to a friend but he shut it down and restarted it and it was fine.
