Works shocks for the 'Shee

I've got a chance to pick up a set of remote res Works shocks for 300 bucks off Craigslist. The guy also has a rear for 150 but I like the way the rear shock feels anyways so I was thinking of picking the fronts up. My question is are they worth 300 bucks? What differences will I feel? I've never ridden a bike with aftermarket suspension before so I don't really know what to expect or if it's all what it's hyped up to be. Any help will be much appreciated!

Well make sure you know at least what weight there valved for. If your 250lbs and there valved for a 150lb guy then its going to be REALLY soft. But if your 150lbs and there valved for 250lb guy its going to be stiff as cock and suck.

But at the same time you Need to know if there for stock, +2 or +3 a-arms as well, or its again going to suck.

If there valved and sprung perfectly to your weight, length of a-arms and riding style then it will make a world of difference for the better.

Understand?

Yeah he says they are for stock a-arms and set up for a 200lb rider and I'm about 180 so I'm sure that after a little adjustment they should be fine. But I ride only in the dunes and sometimes the sand is really choppy and rough after a while will they soak up the bumps a lot better than the stockers? After a while of riding in sand like that I get really worn out.

That's a great price! Make sure the seals aren't broken!

I scored mine for some $200 and gave them a good makeover, JD took care of the springs.

Damn dude I just checked out that thread you posted.. I gotta say I'm very impressed with your polishing! What do you use as a protective coating when you're finished? I got bored and polished my throttle cover and it looked great till I took it for a ride in Oregon.. Now It's covered in salt and it's all dull! I think I will probably get these shocks as I don't really like the way the stock ones ride in the rough stuff.
