HUNTINGTONBEACHBANSHEE
So ive got an 2006 banshee with bill's pipes and silencers, a cut/drilled/vented airbox, a pro-tec jet kit running 400 mains, and everything else is stock. I ride at glamis and i want to get more power out of this thing without tearing apart the engine or shortening lifespan. What would you suggest? Dune porting? Adjustable timing plate? Any help would be great.
kodie
Port will give you best bang for the buck reeds cool head with domes adjustable timing plate And if your not riding in alot of muddy spots either ditch the whole airbox or at least take the lid off. If you do either of the two you will need to rejet If you do take the whole box off make sure to get outerwears for your filters. I rode in alot of muddy wet areas with my trail banshee and I didn't have an airbox I used an outerwear and it worked great. But I didn't just blast into mud holes I tried to get through them as easy as possible. Edited October 5, 2009 by kodie

HUNTINGTONBEACHBANSHEE
Thanks for all the advice. So from here im gonna port, get some reeds, get some cool heads, and an adjustable timing plate. With my setup what size domes would be best? Im in southern california so (besides trinity) does anyone know a good place to get the port work done? Ive been hearing nothing but bad about trinity so im trying to stay away from them. kodie
I heard nothing but good things from Kevin at www.herrjuggsracing.com Jeff at www.farmandsandtoys.com and for your coolhead I would suggest either noss performance or chariot performance I've used both and they both are great peices but I like the chariot beter as its a 1 peice design. And for the domes it all depends on if you want to run pump or race fuel need to stay below either 150 or 160 compression if you want to run pump gas 93 octane. So some 20 cc domes would work for that. And since your in cali I would send my juggs to kevin as he is in cali maybe lil bit faster turn around. Give him a call and he can set you up with what domes and shit you will need. Edited October 7, 2009 by kodie

Because WITH my porting and stock carbs I was just shy of 400 on the mains. Just curious. Yeah im running the stock carbs. The guys at huntington beach yamaha recommended a pro-tec jet kit which came with thicker needles(i installed them in the top position) and 3 different jet sizes 390/400/410. I tried all 3 and installed a new plug with every jet option and the 400's gave me the best coloration on the plug and best performance.
