A-arm Help!

Hi!

I have the 450 shocks on my Banshee and I was in Glamis and had a hard time turning...due to the length of the shock.

I was wondering, other than the 450 A-arms, what could I go with that would make the ride better? I ride a lot of trails and a little bit of sand.

Thanks!

Angie.

Do you have these on stock arms? If so, it will ride stiff ass ****. You can try and let out all the comp on the upper adjustment on the rezzys (counterclockwise) and loosen up the nuts on top of the springs and move them up so there is 1-2 threads showing. But they will ride much better if you put them on the 450 arms.

What about some aftermarket A-arms? Any recommendations?

Yup, you could go with a +3+1 arm and that would make it pretty plush.

Or even better yet, Fireball makes an a-arm just for the 450 shocks in a +2+1 arm with the lower shock mounts outward more and from what ive heard they work really really nice and makes it much smoother.

4th pic down shows them. Give them a call if your interested.

That is my quad in that pic. Those a-arms work awesome, I would definitely recommend them if you are using 450 shocks.

Yes I still use them. They work great, and if you are looking for long travel these give you about 2 inches more travel as well. My buddy has Laeger arms with Works shocks and he has about 9 inches travel. I have over 11 with these arms and stock length Elka 450 shocks. Then to finish it off I got the Elka rear and linkage this year to go along with it... Awesome ride... I have never rode anything with a real long travel set up to compare it too but mine rides way nicer than my buddies.

Sounds like thats right up my alley. Obviously you had to tell Elka or who ever built your shocks what the measurements and what not were for the arms and shocks correct? So they can set the valving perfect.

Thanx for the info also.

How much roughly do those Fireball a-arms run?

Any other suggestions?

I would say somewhere in the range of 400-550.

You would have to call them to find out for sure. It was about 4 years ago that I got mine so I don't really know what they would cost now... plus I don't really remember what I paid <_< . You can also get them with hiem joints or their funky ball joints that are suppose to last forever. That would make a big difference in the cost as those ball joints are pretty pricey.

OK maybe they wont last forever but they are rebuildable. I went with Hiems on mine so I can't say for sure if they are any good or not. http://www.fireball-racing.com/billetball.htm
