RippinShee
I stripped a bolt on the upper outside passenger side when putting my new intakes and reed spacers on last night. They came with new bolts, which were the same length as stock. Very little threads were holding it all in. So i think if I get a longer bolt, i should be ok and not have to drill tap helicoil. Should i be using any sort of washers or thread locker on the others also? Thoughts? Edited September 24, 2009 by RippinShee

RippinShee
So a longer bolt and some blue loctite should fix me up?
bbcmudtruck
It could, you'll just have to try it and see. Those bolts don't need alot of torque on them. I with Spurdy, I use loctite on everthing.
RippinShee
Should i use any type of washers?
spurdy
Should i use any type of washers? Washers are fine as long as you have at least 1.5 x the diameter of the bolt (M6 in this case) with thread engagement. SP

RippinShee
I knew there was something wrong. I put reed spacers on and it came with stock length bolts. I should have known to go get longer bolts.

dajogejr
First tap the hole clean and use a longer bolt to see if you need a helicoil. Second, yes...use a dab of blue loc tite. After seeing how easy intake bolts can work free, cause an air leak, etc., I use it every time now.
