Lost my owners manual, and have been taking this to a mechanic for some time so I don't remember the specifics on the oil.

Can anyone tell me what weight oil, how much, and reccomended brand?

2002 Banshee

Thanks

1500mL

10W-40 or 80W gear oil

I like Maxima MTL 85W or Honda 80/85W.

You will get many different answers because everyone has a preference.

ATF? Thats alot thinner than the manual states. What would the benefit be from that? Some extra HP maybe? Just wondering as im a noob and getting ready to change mine. Just never thought of that before. I dont wanna run the lifespan short for a few HP

Thanks for the quick replies. I remember it saying that you can use anything without a friction modifier. API or somthing like that.

I have heard people reccomed Shell Rotella from Wal-Mart as a good oil instead of 10-40 yamalube. Has anyone ran this. I also hear the argument that oil is oil use anything and change it often.

I don't understand what the advantage of ATF would be, but it seems logical since it is in a clutch/shift mechanism.

What are the advantages to ATF over regular 10-40.
