Dumb question...how to install spacers..

Do i install them first, then the reeds, then the intakes? or the reeds, then the spacers, then the intakes?

you can do them either way.when i ran them yrs ago i put spacer,reeds then intake.heard of guys saying they do them,reeds,spacer then intake.worked fine for me the way i had them

They were only 28mm. Not a huge jump.

 

When I first switch riding styles from lowend to mid/topend, I used stockers. From stock to 28mm carbs, performance was not a huge jump. But better throttle response, easier to tune, jet, and over all function was night and day difference. Very fluid like throttle after the upgrade.

They should be installed betweent the reeds and cylinders. If they were supose to be installed between the intake and reeds then the would be called intake boot spacers.

 

On the intake streem you want the sizes to go from smallest to large. If your carb boot is dumping in to a larg hole (reed spacer), then being necked back down in to the reed cage that is bad for flow.
