Crash66
Hey all....working on the toe in adjust on a used Banshee just purchased....Im having a problem with running out of thread on the outer ball joint before I get the toe correct...it has Roll design 2+1s , with Roll Design tie rods. The outer joints dont have the same length of thread available for the adjustment as the inner joints do. If I remove the lock nut from the tie rod its very close. So if I sinch them down without the lock nut am I asking for problems, and or replace the out joints with one that have more thread adjustment on them or replace the tie rods with a shorter set...also it has yfz400 shocks on the A arms not sure if that effects it. Thanks
Meat
Ya gotta run those lock nuts cause it will go out of toe when your 10 miles from your truck. Sounds like longer tie rods would fix your problem.
Drewski
just tighten the rods up far as they go on one side then pop off the other joint then tighten that one all the way up as well, then re-install the joint to the spindle assembly thingy and take it from there. the threads should be the same on either side
AKheathen
x2. count the turns to unscrew the outter from bottomed, then bottom it out in the inner one, and back it out that many turns and screw the outer back on and go from there
