Boss Noss Raptor 700 beat me

Recommended Posts

I wouldn't have expected a raptor on Noss to beat me up Sand Mountain, Little Sahara, UT. Elevation ~5,000 feet. I may be off on my jetting, does anyone have a recommendation for my jets? Or is it expected that a 700 raptor on Noss would beat me?

Here's my setup:

Trinity 420cc Big Bore

17cc Trinity Stave IV Head

Trinity Pro MX Port/Polish

CPI In-Frame Pipes

35mm Keihin PWK Carbs. 148 main jet, CEL Needle, Middle Clip

Stock Gearing

Here's the video:

I'm not really a fan of posting up when I get beat, but I don't like to get beat so I gotta figure out what to change.

reporting will really help you... however, dont be upset about getting beat by a 700. I had a pretty good worked 700 and it handed its share of 4 mil banshees a loss. There was an 812 raptor on nitrous with the best rider in colorado in my opinion (700 based engine) up here at walden that handed damn near every 10mil banshee its ass. They are no joke.

found a vid of that 812..

812 raptor on the far side, DSXR1000 on nitrous in the middle, and a nice 10mil shee closest... race was at 8500ft elevation

Thanks for the feedback so far. Looks like a new port job may be in line. Any comments from anyone about my jetting? I figure next time I'm out there I'll go down 1 step. It felt pretty strong at where I had it, but I think I may be able to go 1 step leaner.

Are you running race fuel with those 17cc domes at this elevation? -5000ft

I run a mix; 1/3 91 premium and 2/3 111 Race Fuel. Premixed at 40:1 with Klotz Super Techniplate.

do you no how big of a shot that 700 was running ?

He was running a 30hp shot of Noss.
