Aftermarket CDI/REV box

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I just got a banshee and can get an aftermarket AMR rev box locally and was wondering if it is worth the money?

It says it changes timing, but i think you guys would recommend to change timing mechanically. right or wrong?

it also says it lifts the rev limiter... Do banshees have a rev limiter? At WOT i dont hear the motor limiting any gear, i just shift into a higher gear when i feel it stops pulling..

thanks in advance!

I personally like timing plates, stock CDIs work great.

and what about the rev limiter? So is this a mod that no one here does?

i've been reading around and have come up with some questions so if anyone can answer them it'd be appreciated-

- How do VF2 reeds compare to VF3?

- my main jets are 290s, why do i see people with huge motors/huge carbs running 155 jets?

-On a stock bore, non ported, pump gas motor - whats the most compression and timing you can run reliably?

- should i get a cool head or just have my stock head milled for proper psi/squish?

thanks everyone

they are pretty close to the same thing. the vf3 use a snap in system that eliminated the screws from the vf2. either one would be fine for you.

because keihin aftermarket carbs use a jet system that uses pilots like 45,48,50,52,55 etc and main jets like 155,158,160,162,165 etc.

170 psi is a pretty safe psi to run on any motor. itll give you more bottom end grunt without sacrificing too much rev on top. +4 timing is a good mod for just about any bike. you have to be sure to run the proper octane fuel for increased compression and timing.

go with a NOSS head. dave is a site sponsor and makes great products. his screen name here is dlnoss.
