Where can I get an override

Interesting...do you have a link for this? I know what a dial a jet is, but...I've always seen them placed before the venturi of the carb (behind the slide) not in front of it.

The theory...or I could be wrong...is to use the intake signal to draw fuel out of the bowl into the intake.

More fuel with more air.

These are the ones I've seen. They are very, very similar in principle and use as a power jet is for the drag/alky crowd.

hillshooting at Buttercup in Glamis and flat dragging here in tucson. The jetting for glamis has always run just fine here in Tucson. Now that I have the Dial-a-jet maybe theres a difference. guess I will re sync and retune. The clutch is fine.I am sure of that. will retune and fine tune and get back to you this weekend...Thank you very much and again any and all input is deeply appreciated.

There's about 2,000' of elevation difference between the 2 locations. That's more than enough to affect the tune-up.

Absolutely.

If it was in good tune at the hill (which I'm going to assume is the higher of the two in elevation) then without adjustment it would be lean at sea level.

And vice versa....if the flat drags are higher in elevation.

And I mis-read his post about the dial a jet.

I thought it said on the intake side...not between the carb and filter.

So...the dial a jet is very similar to a power jet....

yes...and it IS on the carb intake between the carb and the filter and is a power jet so im told..lol...again..this level is new to me. Talked to doug from d and m who built this beast...he says the dial a jet would have little if anything to do with launch. he says even though i am geared for oldsmobile hill at glamis 16/46 I should only go down to a 15 on the front for a flat 300 ft. otherwise with the power this thing makes anything smaller and i will over rev and certainly destroy something other than my competition..lol...went and got a new 15 tooth renthal today and am gonna put it on tomorrow...will run it sunday. you guys who have put up with me today are awesome and i will keep you poseted with times and links after sunday and in the future..thx again.

IF you backload it excessively at higher RPMs, it will wear shift forks sooner.

There is NO such thing as a TRAIL override. And I wouldn't downshift any override without pulling the clutch...

Dont jump to that conclusion just yet we will soon have a override that will not wear shift forks and we will guarantee them for 3 months!

Andy, no offense.

I can guarantee mine for 3 months too.

Unless you ride every day and backload the bejesus out of them, they will last quite a while being abused.

Put it out there for an entire riding season of abuse, then see how it holds up...

None takin,

I have done prolly 150-200 overrides that i consider duneable in the last few years and gauranteed everyone of them and even had to replace a few but that was few and far between. Im not talking about guaranteeing the tranny i already do that im talking about guaranteeing the shift forks. With this new cut it will not wear shift forks gauranteed, downshifting, backloading whatever. We will put it out there as soon as were happy with it.

Do you guarantee the tranny and shift forks for 90 days?

What happens when it wears a shift fork in 6 months, or after one season?

Ya were going to gaurantee the tranny and the shift forks for 3 months. What happens when yours wear shift forks after 6 months? All i will say is that we have done some of the most duneable trannys in the industry and we wont gaurantee anything im not willing to stand behind so when im sure about the tranny it will be released.

Gotcha...

Keep in mind, not challenging you Andy. I've got about 100 of them out there myself, rock solid performers...but in the end, it's a drag bike/aftermarket world.

You can't go to Walmart or Best Buy and get an extended warranty for this stuff, I know you're with me on that.

Best of luck on your new deal...:)

I feel that the new design is going to be a awesome addition to any duner, dragger, or trailrider imho. The bike will be able to be ridden without worry about wearing shift forks like you and i both know any (even duneable) trannys will do if back loaded heavily and at high rpms.
