AKheathen
go down to the dmv and register it in your name. it's that simple. i'd bet no one doesthat there, but it'd be the only proof of ownership and you don't need a title to do it. RZBansheeMan
Tough shit for him, according to you he wanted to do the trade......that 125 is his baby now !! As for the 8 cage buddies, probably all BS. I wouldn't worry a bit, but I'm not too intimidated by anybody either.
blowit
I know my dirt bike is legit. i know the first owner who bought it brand new at the dealership. I never got a title for it when I bought it and as far as I knew dirt bikes did not have titles. I told him that I would report his threats to the authorities and he said they will not do anything about it. He said "its not a threat its a promise" Also when the deal was made in person my girl friend was there and so was his mother and father. His father was the one that said it seemed to be a good deal and that it was a go if he wanted the bike. The kid rode the bike up to the house and leaned it against the garage and said we have a deal. They both helped me load the quad into the back of the truck, even invited us in for dinner (we passed because there was somewhere else we wanted to eat) and we took off. Edit: also the deal was made at his house. Listen, a "promise" to inflict bodily harm IS a threat. Please consult any legal representative for that. I will nearly guarantee you, you have zero to worry about and the guy will not even take it to court. Your best option right now is to file for a restraining order against him like yesterday because he will likely no go to court but probably will show up at your house to trash your place. The courts will find that the trade was made in good faith and he would need a really good reason to find otherwise. A judge is simply not going to make you trade back. You both did the deal, you have witnesses, it is done, bet on it! BUT, you need to cover your ass and get that restraining order. It is not very hard to do and when the cops show up at his house, he will know the games ARE going to stop. T-Bone
Thanks guys. Going to the DMV tomorrow. Will I need a bill of sale or title? Or just the year, make model and vin? All you really need is the original title signed by the previous owner. Atleast that all you need in Utah. And as for the threats I really wouldnt sweat it. I had almost the same thing happen to me. He is just trying to get you to do what he wants. All i can say is FUCK that douche.
blowit
Thanks guys. Going to the DMV tomorrow. Will I need a bill of sale or title? Or just the year, make model and vin? You are going to need some form of documentation whether it be title, MSO, BOS, etc. Problem is you did not get any of that. Remember in the future to always sign something over of value whether it be a bike, gun, car, etc. Life is just easier with documents and judges love them!!! 88e30is
Well, I will have to go to the DMV and talk to them and see what to do. I got a new title for a car that I had shipped across country when I went to the DMV and the guy didn't send it. They just had to do a back ground check to make sure it wasn't stolen, so I will try that.
