moneybags Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 I just dont know what the hell is up with my car, (1990 Honda Civic SI HB). I have all the strut and sway bars on the car aswell as 5-way ajustable shocks. Car is lowered 1 .25 inches... Dam car seems to just want to nose dive into corners even when I am not realy taking them fast... Any ideas y it does this? Could the rime and tire size be causing the problem. 205-40-17 rims. Car still has the stock SOHC motor in it. Any info you can provide would be nice Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 You running shocks and coils Beau? You try and stiffen the shocks any? Quote
moneybags Posted July 13, 2009 Author Report Posted July 13, 2009 The shocks are set as stiff as they can be. I am using springs that are 1.25 inches lower then stock. Not coil over shocks. Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 How thick is your sway bar? Mabey get under there and have a look and see if the bushings that hold it on and the rods and the ends are worn out and/or broken...worth a look see at least. Quote
dirtydownunder Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 if your shocks are at there hardest setting it will be prone to skip and understeer, back them off to half way then go from there. Quote
AKheathen Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 x2 on the sway bar. you only want it stiff enough not to bottom out on the hard shit, or you sacrifice traction Quote
moneybags Posted July 15, 2009 Author Report Posted July 15, 2009 Thanks for the ideas. I will soften up the shocks today and report back. Quote
1.6i Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 what kind of springs you running? You need to get some quality coilovers like ground control's with eibach springs...You can also go with integra spring rates, it'll stiffen it up some but still give you a quality ride.. What shocks you have, KYB AGX? Quote

What shocks you have, KYB AGX? I got a suspension kit off ebay, came with Tokico 5 way ajustable shocks and 1.25 drop lowering springs. The springs are Tokico aswell . I upgraded the rear drum brakes to disc. Then upgraded to a big disc AEM brake setup. On the front, I pulled the steering nuckels off a 1991 Acura Integer LS and put them on my honda, then added a AEM big disc upgrage in front... Hope that all makes sence. lol Quote
Darthwall Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 I would say to put some eibach springs on it in not to familiar with the Tokico springs but I have had success with the eibachs before Quote
