LiftdT4R
Hey, what's up? I was taking apart a spare bottom end I had laying around my shop today, and I noticed the small metal dowel pin laying on the workbench after I was done. Ive never seen this part before, and I was wondering where its from, I looked through Clymers and couldnt find it in the pics.
XxMeltIcexX
Looks like a clutch cover pin? "Dowel"
LiftdT4R
Looks like a clutch cover pin? "Dowel" I dont think it is the pin that holds the clutch cover to the crankcase, I have all of those, and they are a bit bigger in diameter. XxMeltIcexX
Only dowels Im seeing are the case halfs, clutch cover, and cylinder. Hopefully someone will know exactly what it is
LiftdT4R
I'm usually pretty good at cleaning shit up, but there is a possibility its from one of my YZs. I think its from the bottom end because I think Ive seen it before.
firebanshee
Is it the dowel that goes under the shift star that locks it to the shift drum?

I am trying to think of anything on the chassis and it possibly looks like a shim/spacer from the front tank mounts that someone fabbed or found. There is no pin like that in the engine. B Thanks for the reply, I was still wondering about this today. No chance its from the clutch either huh? I usually clean up pretty good after UI work on stuff, but there is a chance that its leftover from working on the YZ. Could have sworn I took it out of the bottom end of the engine I'm taking apart though.
hercalmighty
Is it maybe a piece from the PV on the YZ? I think on my old 125 there was something like that. I dont remember seeing anything like that when I did my bottom end on the banshee.

LiftdT4R
Still havent found out where/what this is from, but my YZs both ran fine this weekend, so I'm guessing/hoping it wasnt from them. I recently parted out a motor, and I thought it was from there, either way, I guess it doesnt matter, it just bugs me to find pieces where I dont know where theyre from. Thanks guys, appreciate ya looking!!!
hercalmighty
Hey. Is it a spacer for an intake clamp? I know yamaha likes to put those on their intake clamps so you dont over tighten them or something. It looks like it might be about that size. B Could be a front tank mount sleeve, but I don't think the hole in the center is big enough.......
