BANSH-alena-jol-EE
hello, i was in a rush so i just put a set of rings on the bitch...comp was way down at 85 & 83 and now still holds the same, the bike feels like shes hauling harder but no gain in comp??? shes a 04 first time she was apart, i guess i must need to get her bored out and some new pistons, i think the rubber coolant plugs were leaking a little bit, but i never changed them... Drewski
did you at least hone the cylinders before you put it back together?
Drewski
you need to hone the cylinders in order for the rings to seat in properly. and if that doesn't help you probably need to bore them out
BANSH-alena-jol-EE
sorry man, not totally fresh engine, i re used my pistons, which are 5 years old, but they looked mint, just got the cylinders honed and put in new rings reeds and head are good man, no leaks
Drewski
hmm.... thats kinda fucked. whats your elevation? still you should be at least 100psi of compression
Drewski
I would try taking a reading with another compression tester
Drewski
oh ya, also if the threaded part of the comp. tester doesn't go all the way into the head(same length of the spark plug)you will get an inaccurate reading
