decon
Ok so im trying to clean up my handlebars a bit. I got a +2 Lonstar Antivibe with a oversized bar clamp and I ordered a set of pro taper fat bars. Right now i want to get rid of the headlight switch/on and off switch, i seen a few guys running a CR 250 killswitch so i Ordered 1. But What switch can i run for the headlights? I have hella 500's & they dont have high or low beam, so all i need is a on and off. I was thinking about running a switch from radioshack or something. I also need to know what wires to run to each switch, i have one of the color diagrams but im still puzzled. Also, is it possible to relocate my CDI and wires in the rear but still run a brake light? and is a brake light really necessary? I always figured i needed one for night riding at the dunes. And where can i relocate my CDI and wires from the rear to? i want to eliminate my rear fenders when I go dune riding so i dont want any wires showing. yamaha11
torque racing makes a bracket to mount the cdi and shit up front and works nice and only like 30 bucks
lilmegill727
we used to have a little chrome toggle switch under the handlebars on the gas tank for lights. yu barely notice it. i dont have a pic of it though/
springer
i relocated my cdi and all wires to right behind the gas tank, in front of the seat. but i didn't pay $30 for a bracket. i took a peice of 1" angle iron and plasma cut one whole side off except the last inch or so for the mounting holes. doesn't look the best because i am impatient and got it dirty before the paint dried, but it works and you cant see shit unless you take the seat off. i can get some pics if you want. decon
can you please? also did you snip any wires to make them shorter or did u just move them and zip tie?
springer
no i didn't cut any wires, just bundled them up and zip tied the hell out of it. looks kinda messy, but nothing can be seen unless you take the seat off so i can live with it. i still need to run the two wires for the brake light, but not a big deal. here is a couple pics... RagunCajun
I used my GB racing relocation bracket to put the CDI and voltage regulator between the tank and radiator. I then deleted the key switch. Then moved the killswitch/lightswitch thing behind the radiator. I just shoved it in there rather than cut/mod wires just in case i ever wanna use my lights again. It cleans it up very good imo. I think a nice billet throttle housing would finish the look off but im not wasting money on that any time soon. http://rc.superdave2u.com/MyBanshee/banshee2%205-18-09.JPG http://rc.superdave2u.com/MyBanshee/banshee2%201-18-09.JPG
decon
Here's how my bars look now. I put the asv lever took off the parking brake, and put a CR 250 killswitch (you cant see it ) I also rewired my harness im going to get one of those CDI relocaters that go inbetween the radiator and steering stem. I basically just rewired it to face back towards the front of the bike, i didnt want to cut any of the wires. and i left a wire in the back to lead to the brake light. NOW for the killswitch, i hooked up the black and white wire and grounded the other wire onto the killswitch housing. and for the headlights i ran a yellow and blue wire to one terminal of the flip switch i have , and a single yellow wire to the other terminal. I did this because i want to run my brake lights. let me know if i did this right. and all the wires i tapped into came from the STOCK killswitch, with the on/off button and the hi/low beam button.
