Ruko Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 I would definitely be interested if it actually works and makes a difference. My 485 runs about 20-30 deg. hotter than my buddies 421. When I switched from the stock impeller to a ProDesign it didn't make any difference. Quote
polkaudio Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 You need 3/4" recess in your outer cover for it to fit perfectly. Most aftermarket water pump covers are at least that deep. If you use your stock cover then you will have about 1/8" gap when you bolt your outer cover on. Not really a problem because there is nothing to seal in there. So to use the stock plastic outer cover, I guess one would need to remove the heat shield that's inside it? Quote

Even with removing the heat shield you still have 1/8" gap which really is not a problem because there isn't anything in there which needs sealing. Fit's perfectly under all the aftermarket covers I have seen. Quote
Ruko Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 I just ordered one of these... I will let you all know what kind of difference I see once I get it and install it. I currently have a Pro Design impeller but I didn't see any difference when I installed that. Quote
