People with a G- Force axle

Recommended Posts

I have had a G force axle for a year or so and I remember my sproket hub being loose before but now it seems to be a little looser. I can turn the sproket a little bit forward and back. Not side to side like the nut is loose. I figureed i probably have worn splines on the hub but I have looked it over closely and neither the hub or axle look like they have bad splines. When I get real close to it it almost looks like my hub is slightly larger and that is why it is loose.

I want to buy a new hub but there a little pricey and I dont want to waste money on it if a new one is going to be the same. So does anyone else have one that is like this or are my splines worn and I just cant tell by looking at it. I just wanted to check because I think it may be due to the cheapness of this axle. Hell my chrome falls off when I pressure wash it. Should have kept the dura blue I think.

The chrome does suck! But, I put on brand new lone star hubs when I put my axle on, and they are as tight as a school girl. My stockers always had a tiny bit of play on the stock axle, but as long as the nuts were tight it seemed like it held them well enough. Hope this helps!!

Just put a new g force axle on my banshee. Sprocket hub was tight,no play in the splines.

Same here eric, Mine has all been tight for just over 2 years now, chrome looks like new still also, and i ride some nasty rock trails and shit here in the mountains.

I just had a problem with my sprocket hub being loose,it was the lock nut.

Check that and make sure its real tight.

Other than that I like my g-force axle.

If the splines are loose then tighting up the nut just masks the problem. You won't be able to move it by hand but the engine still will. The movement back and fourth can cause the axle nut to loosen.

I had the same problem,it was loose from day one.Since I put the cub on i've stripped out 2 hubs. maybe mine is just worn out?

Yea your probably right, but the hub is not terribly loose on the splines.

So if I were to put JB weld on the splines would I be able to get the hub off when needed?

JB weld is junk but that could possibly work. when you hit JB with a hammer lightly it brakes so i dont think you would have much of a problem getting it off. i wouldnt use it but it may work.

Yea I wouldnt bother with jb weld when you can get a new hub from alba for $64. Im going to get a new on but when I look at in installed from the side and move it around. It looks like the hub is just slightly bigger then the axle shaft. Hell even my brake rotor hub is loose too. I could see my motor wearing on a sproket hub but a brake hub.
