swhitey917 Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 Ok guys I have been battling an on going problem since i got my banshee. On the top of my left carb the threads that the T.O.R.S thing screws onto is stripped and I can't tighten it down all the way. I can hand tighten it pretty tight buy i cant tighten fully with pliers or anything. After riding for a while the vibrations rattle the top off and then the quad revs really high because the top popped off. Is there anything I can do to fix this from happening or do i have to get another carb? Quote

swhitey917 Posted June 24, 2009 Author Report Posted June 24, 2009 Ditch the tors and get the elimantor kit its pretty reasonable Even if i did that, It would not solve my problem. I believe the threads on the top of my carb are messed up not the threads on my tors system. So even if i got new carb tops i would still have the same problem Quote

AKheathen Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 try a thread file thread files are a godsend Quote
dajogejr Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 Thread file is cheaper. A new/used stock carb will work too. remove the TORS while you're at it. In a pinch, I've used Duct Tape to secure it....but obviously, that's not the best way. Stock carb caps are garbage...very, very fine threads and easy to strip with ham hands. Quote
