Larry's Shee
Son flipped his shee into deep mudhoe. Pulled jugs, left crank full of slop. He didn't try to start it, only couple drops in chamber. Could it still have hydrolocked? Whats reasonable price for a shop to check rods for straight? Didn't look bent but I know it doesn't take much. Yeah, I know I got to pull it all apart. Was hoping not to do it till Christmas, LOL. Thanks in advance for any help. LiftdT4R
If it were my bike I would use this as an opportunity to change out some seals and freshen up the motor. I would pull it all apart and clean it up, as well as check the crank for straightness (procedure is detailed in the Clymer manual). And make sure there is no up and down play in the crank bearings (side to side is ok). There is also a section in Clymer for checking out the codition of the bore. I would also look at the pistons and make sure there arent any cracks or scoring. I would say that if your crank, pistons and bore are in good shape and you have cleaned everything out that the bike should be good to run. good luck! blowit
You will have a hard time finding a shop that can truly check the rods for straightness without just giving the o'l eyeball test. Every time I have have seen a hydrolocked motor, it is VERY obvious things went wrong. I suspect the rods are not bent but my official answer is "sent the crank to a crank specialist".
