Has anyone tried these cdi boxes. They have a ten curve one and a standerd one and there half the price of dynateck. theres a small dyno report on there ebay add.

That is just it. It is an Advertisement. I would just stick with OEM CDI. As I have been told "Some of the fastest banshee's out there run OEM Ignition" IE Stators, Coils, CDI's.

 

A dyna is worth it if your going to spend the time and money dynoing and programing custom curvs, or running nos. Otherwise I would stick with an OEM Yamaha CDI

 

RM stators stuff looks to much like Ricky Stators stuff to make me comfortable running it.

tbats interesting. it seems to me most people swear by the dynateck. but if i was to change why not go with one that is supposably just as good for half the price. id like to here from someone who has used the rmstator.

The reason why the dynatek is so good is because you can buy a programing kit and make custom programed curves.

 

It also has launch limiter, tach output, and rpm activated switches that can be used to triger nos at certian rpms. If your not programing your own custom curvs then I would just stick with an OEM Yamaha.

 

The "Magical Rev Boxes" arent worth it. They are not made with the same quality as oem yamaha. The factory oem cdi's are made by Denso wich makes good stuff. Try tracking down where the RM stator cdi is produced.

I just put one on my banshee. I only have a few hours of ride time with it but I noticed a difference with the different setting.

what one did you get? the ten curve or the standerd one? I best offered them 85 for it and they countered 99. Havent got it yet was hoping to get more info on it. Thanks

Like I said I have only rode for maybe two hours on it but in that time I went through all ten of the settings. Two of them are stock and two are reserved but out the choices given I have mine set on number 5. I mostly ride on tight trails in the woods so with that setting the power hits a lot sooner then stock setting. I'm impressed with the results but I know I will hang on to my stock cdi unit just in case something would happen to the rm stator even with the one year warranty theres no point in not being able to ride for a few weeks if you have to send it back for a replacement.

Even the 3 programmed standard curves in the dyna make a difference over the stock one. Besides, you dont necessarily have to buy the program kit. There are guys like me or firehead that can make you some curves from a list of your mods that ought to work well.

Thanks snop. hey are you still running a single carb setup. I think were set up pretty similar and i have a 38mm keihn and its just not right. Im going to get the 35mm and was just curiouse what jets your using. we ride the same spots in oregon. thanks man.

I run twin Mikuni 28mm flat slides. If our mods are the same, the 38mm is too big.

ya i no but it was free so i thought id try it. I had 28s and just never got them right. Im going to have cascade fine tune it when i put the 35 on it. I just want to go out and ride and not mess with it anymore. just want to take it in once every 2 years get a new clutch and second gear and call it good. :cool:

Cascade wont be able to dyno tune the needle on it. Their specs for needles are usually way off.
