4StrokeKilla
how do you know when you blow your gaskets or your top end?
LiftdT4R
Ohhh, you'll definately know. The bike wont run anymore if the top end blows. If it's starting to go the bike will also be very hard to start. If the head gasket blows it either wont run or will run like shit and burn coolant. Also, you'll have very little compression left if you want to throw a compression guage on there.

LiftdT4R
oh and about the compression how do you know how much you have to have and how do you tell how much you got? What your supposed to have depends on your setup. Are you running a stock head? And is it ported? http://www.nossmachine.com/banshee_heads.htm has a chart about half way down. To check it you buy a compression tester, from a store like Sears, and you screw it in the spark plug hole. Turn off the kill switch, and hold the throttle wide open, and kick the bike until the guage stops moving. Presto! You'll have your compression. Generally on a stock motor at sea level you want to do a rebuild when you get down to around 100PSI.
