I have nearly 20 gallons of pump premium/100LL AVGAS/premix sitting here in plastic fuel jugs. Will it last until Nov 1? Would adding a fuel stabilizer help? I just have an 8' long piece of 5/4x10 laying on my shop floor for all my jerry cans to sit on, just don't leave it sit on a concert floor for extended periods. You must mean taking a battery out of a vehicle and setting it directly onto concrete and leaving it sit will drain energy from a battery. Fuel stabilizer will help if say (stabil) is added every few months in small amounts to the mixture. Hell If you ride in the dessert you can ride early in the morning around 5 am out there and ride till almost 10am without baking too bad. You could then head into Yuma, Arizona or El-Centro, California for the day and spend it at the pool till late in the evening and ride again. If i let my jerrys sit on the cold ass concrete when its cold as fuck out condensation forms and fucks with fuel. Try it sometime over a long period of time. You wont be happy with the results. INFINITIED Posted June 12, 2009 Report Share Posted June 12, 2009 when we buy drums of vp racing fuel, vp tells you after you break the seal that you have few months till the octaine starts to drop off. so the same will apply for you, the octain will drop off after a few months. it all depends on your engine ! Use it in the weedwacker !! FYI : batterys that sit on the floor go dead just as fast as batterys on a peice of wood... Most 2 cycle premixes already have a fuel stabilizer built into them. That is because the manufactures realize that premix is typically used for sport or occasional home use like weed eaters. Where fuel can go bad quickly from sitting in the sun, garages etc.. To cut back on claims and reputation that their oil was the fault of an engine seizure when it was from bad gas and not the oil.
