LiftdT4R
Hey, what's up? I found out yesterday that I'm heading up to Maine at the end of the summer for an 4 wheelin' trip. I was wondering if anybody on the board was familiar with the area or lives up there. Me and my buddies usually go on one trip a year, for the last 4 years it's been out to Pennsy, but this year one of my buddies wanted to try this place. It's near Bingham, and we're renting a cabin. Supposedly every quad has to be registered in Maine. I wanted to bring my YZ too, but I'm not sure if they allow the bikes on the trails or not, and the people at the lodge didnt really sound like they knew. Anyway I was wondering if anybody has ridden up there, and how it is, also if theres anything/anyone I should watch out for? Thanks guys!!! How are the trails up there? And how are the Conservation officers? We've only heard a couple of stories so far, but the pictures look awesome. I wanna know what Ive gotten myself into with this trip.
TwistedSheeRida
ive never ridden the trails up that way i usually ride locally around me. no i doubt anyone ill be bringing will be breaking down lol. definitly have to get something going. i got a couple trail maps for the state of Maine ill see if i can get in contact with the atv club in that area and get a detailed map. I have only delt with the wardens around here and they arent bad as long as your registered and not on the snowmobile trails. im sure there is a lot of atv trail up round that way so not to much to worry about. Awesome man, yeah we're staying in Bingham, I think it's me and about 12 other people so far. Some 4x4s, some sport quads. I know we have 1 other Banshee going and a couple YFZs. I'm mainly going to ride my bike, but if the trails look decent I might take out my new Banshee. If you guys wanna meet up one day and do some trails that would be awesome. I'll shoot you a PM as I get closer to going up there. I'm still in the planning stages yet.

We ride decent for the most part. Some of our group isnt going to be wearing lids, but I see that there isnt a helmet law up there anyway. I'll have my new Banshee, but I just fixed up my YZ, so I'll be riding that most of the time.
seabass
He's not kidding about the shooting either. You really don't want to be on private property up there but plenty of legal spots. Just don't go tearing up the snowmobile trails and stay on legal trails. You can actually pull up to restaurants and gas stations with no problem as long as your registered. They make alot of money off snowmobilers and atv riders, so they're pretty cool if you obey the rules and ride respectfully. You'll love it in Maine, really nice place. By the way, why no helmets?? They'll regret it when they run into the ass end of a one ton moose. Edited June 14, 2009 by seabass
LiftdT4R
Thanks for the warning. My buddy got a trail map, so we're going to try our best to stay on the trails. I heard they're pretty well marked as well. We're really responsible with that kind of stuff. Definately believe in treading lightly. How are they on bikes up there? If I can, I plan on riding my YZ most of, if not all of the time. I'm like 50-50 with the lid, I'll probably wear it since I don't know the trails and stuff that well but I just hate wearing a helmet.
