A large pair of testicles.

This has been covered hundreds of time on this board and others, as well as just about every site that has anything to do with 2 strokes. A quick google or search here will tell you the answer

On a 2 stroke you have to hit a certain RPM range for power to turn on..When riding your Banshee, when taking off it will feel somewhat sluggish then when the powerband kicks in that is when you feel the snap and you have to hold on..Like when riding through trails or steep hills, you constantly have to use the clutch and keep the RPM so you stay in the POWERBAND, if not it will fall flat on its face, especially in a high gear..Hope this somewhat explains it to you.

There really is no such thing as a powerband. The "powerband" is just your rpm/hp curve like you see on a dyno. To see the powerband compare the dyno chart of a 4stroke to that of a banshee. The 4stroke will be really smooth over the entire rpm range where the banshee's will be real low through the bottom on the rpm curve then it will shoot up really fast. This spike in power is what the "powerband" refers to when talking 2strokes. Your "powerband" will be determined by many things like pipes, carbs, porting, timing, compression, etc. There isnt anything that "activates" the powerbands.
