2into1 Carb advantages

I am wondering what the advantages of going to a 2 into 1 carb setup are, also the disadvantages. I am trying to decide between the dual 28mm PWK and a trinity single carb setup. It will be going on a 2004 with these specs Trinity IV Pipes, Trinity IV Head 19cc, VForce 3, timing, KN Pods

Disadvantage: Bit less on the topend, especially if a ported motor

- seems to be more snappy. Power came on extremely fast and hard. (might of had something to do with the PC pipes)

Advantages: Only one jet to change

- No sychronizing or tuning. Only the one carb

- Bit easier on the thumb throttle

- awsome mid-low end

I had a 2into1 on my bike when I bought it. The motor had been ported but not a full drag port or anything. I had absolutely no complaints about that bike. Performed damn well for a stock stroke/bore bike.

NN2 is spot on. The top end loss that's always talked about has been dyno proved to exist but seems to vary somewhat from setup to setup. With my highly scientific butt dyno, I couldn't feel any top end loss when I switched to the single from the stockers. Going from dual 30's to a single might be a slightly different story though. Search for Snopckzi's (i'm sure I butchered the spelling) thread dyno testing singles vs duals. Very neat read.

Personally I run a single with drag port and love it. For all of the benefits I'll give up 3hp on the very top end. It's making enough power that I ripped half the ears off of my billet clutch basket the other day.

the 2 into 1 is for low-mid setups and increses throttle response. You are running all the wrong parts (mid-top) to be running one.
