AKheathen
oh, shoot, you said pro reeds, not power reeds. and i was thinking carbon fibre. guess i needed to pay closer attention to the terms. was tired as fuck. working nights right now. actually just got off about an hour ago. my bad, sorry
AKheathen
Them are dual stage power reeds... The pro series use a carbon fiber top reed and a epoxy lower. yah, i'm running the powers right now. budgeting for the pro's or another mid-top reed. gotta pay off my new 20's, and daughters' karate first. 80 hrs/week and still not enough, lol
jse28
how are boysen rad valves?
shanYE west
yah, i'm running the powers right now. budgeting for the pro's or another mid-top reed. gotta pay off my new 20's, and daughters' karate first. 80 hrs/week and still not enough, lol I've ran both and didn't notice much difference. They're both dual stage. I would have to assume as long as tension is the same on the coupler reed. The only difference would be the carbon would have a longer life span. The ends did fray and chip rather quickly on the power reeds I had. Pro series is a good reed though.. Ran them on my blaster for years! odaen
As mikenick said, porting your stock cages and putting some 2 stage reeds on, carbon tech if its a low to mid bike will work good, I have had good luck with this and depending on application performs as well as VF3's because the V-forces are more of a top end mod I was just gonna run my stock cages on my new 4mil stock cylinder setup, but I asked Cameron to throw a set of vf3's on to see the difference, and I gained from bottom to top a minimum of 2HP through the range. It made more of a HP difference in the low to mid RPM range.
LiftdT4R
how are boysen rad valves? I run them on my bike and I like them. But Ive never run anything else except for stockers so I don't have much to compare them too. I don't think I gained any power, but the throttle seems like it has a little more pep. I wouldnt pay 200 beans for them again, I dont think theyre worth that much.

I just bought a set on ebay for 43$ so i figured i would try them. I'm gettin a mx/hardcore port job done at hjr right now so I wanted to get away from stock without playin my guitar on the street

Ive always ran them on my YZs, and never anything else. I don't think reeds are ever going to make a HUGE difference, but for $43 you can't go wrong. I think theyre worth that.
