Banshee help

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I have a 87 banshee and I had it three days and it was buring antifrezze then to follow that a ring feel off and messed that up so we did a top end job on it and now it runs awsome but it seems like it is

Going threw antifrezze and I can't see were it is leaking from so idk what is wrong it can't be a head gasket or anything because that is all new for that so any suggestions

Check your oil, if it is milky your water impeler seal is gone. this is a common problem with banshees so if it is spend some money on a new billet impeller and seal. the new impeller will give better water flow also. If thats not your problem you might be leaking through the head and out the cylinder.does your exhaust blow white smoke (steam)?

If you cant find it leaking anywhere the motor has to be eating it up. Sure your not spiting it out of you overflow tube. I mostly see compromised head gaskets. They suck it into the motor and out the exhaust or spit it out the overflow. At idle it will sometimes not come out but rev it up and it will steam out or drip out the overflow tube or the exhaust pipes. If you have a surface irregularity somewhere on the head or jugs a new gasket will not fix it.

Also one other thing to check is to see of you remembered to put the rubber plugs in at the bottom of the cylinders.

The head gasket lets go on the inside so after the cylinder ignites all the exhaust pressure passes around the head gasket and into the water jacket. The exhaust has to go somewhere so out the overflow it goes. It bleeds the pressure off enough so it never makes it to the outside of the cylinders to leak down your jugs. I see this a lot.
